From a simple idea to a global platform empowering artists everywhere. Follow our path.
I started working on a side project called Kiambote in late 2019, it was basically a website that I would upload my Dj sets and invite my friends to listen.
The first version was amazing and it was doing everything that I intended to do. Anyone that work on side projects knows that the ideas keep coming one after the other.
I felt that I could give to other Djs to use it as well. Without knowing how to develop a business or to create a product that can handle what a production environment requires, I started working on the technical side, which was all I "knew" how to do.
I kept working and things were progressing and I decided to bring some people to help with other aspects like marketing, branding and design.
We were able to make it to the point where we live streamed from a custom tool and where able to watch the live from a custom web player. Also, the live streaming were being recorded and being watched on demand, which is insane looking back and seeing what the "project" is today.
Unfortunately, all we had was a project with no value to our potential customers (artists) and with almost zero use to the end consumer.
Did I mention that I did not have any business development experience? Yeah, I realized that I needed to learn more about the industry I was trying to get into. Unfortunately, I had to let the people I was working with go, because there was no way to create a real company, provide value to people and make a living of it.
Bringing more people introduced a number of problems that I could never have anticipated. We worked together for a while but unfortunately, things did not work out for different reasons.
By this time, I do not have an total clear idea of how the final product is going to look like, but I am now in position to understand different things. First thing I had to do was understand the industry I was trying to get into. The music industry as any other industry has standards, these standards are developed and maintained by central entities that make the interaction between parties more manageble and organized. The standards are used to help intervinietes in the music industry to colaborate and exchange information. So, I was able to identify the standards that we as a company need to use in order to offer Music Distribution and Publishing Administration. After identifying the standards, I started modeling them into classes, basically created hundreds of Java classes that will become the backbone of our data infrastructure. It was a very slow process because AI was not good as it is these days and I had to write a lot of code by hand. While working on that, I was also working on what we call our Streaming Server. The streaming server is used to offer streaming on Meuspace, its basically a series of custom tools that I had to create to process uploads and live streamings.
Official launch of the MeusX platform. We integrated with major DSPs, established our transparent payout system via Stripe, and welcomed our first wave of independent artists looking for freedom.
Expanding our horizons with AI-driven analytics, deeper fan engagement tools, and direct crypto payments. We are committed to remaining the most artist-centric platform in the world.
